The services we provide at IDS are strictly related to excellence in testing for drugs, with a special focus on Methamphetamine. This gives us the position of being able to provide truly impartial test results. Since we provide no services for decontamination - you can have peace of mind that our testing is impartial, independent - and above all professionally performed and accurate.
Methamphetamine has become our focus through our own research and our team's own experience into the state of drug use in New Zealand. Some of our team have had contact on a personal level with Methamphetamine property contamination, within family and friends. With our first hand experience we are able to assist and discuss other required further steps.
Methamphetamine has far reaching impacts within our society, and the chemicals released in the manufacture and consumption of "P" that is produced here create long-lasting damage to people's properties. There's not much awareness of the damage caused by the smoking if "P" - most of what you hear in the media relates to clandestine or "clan" labs - but the risks for properties where there has been consumption alone is high.
Our independence follows on through other areas of our business - for testing at higher stages, or for workplace drug screening, we use only independent testing laboratories - for the same reasons. Independence is at the core of our business.
A rigorous scientific approach to property/vehicle and employment testing - holding ourselves to very high standards
In the early days of IDS, we reviewed what testing methodologies were available to choose from, and which were currently being offered in the market. We've continued to stay up with the play in terms of current best-practices and recommendations, and have established a rigorous approach to testing - covering the Methodology itself, Training and Qualifications to our Reporting.
The methodology we use allows us to give accurate room-by-room results in our "Presumptive" testing stage. In our experience, we've found that contamination levels can vary greatly from room to room in a house where "P" has been consumed. This makes sense, when you think about it - when a house does come up positive, we often find that a particular bedroom, or bathroom, tests positive, but the living areas and other bedrooms do not. By establishing this early in the testing process, we can target any further testing.
When bringing our team on board, we focus on training - and our testers will always be certified for "MMC Presumptive Testing". This training ensures that the results from our tests are accurate, and that our team is aware of all of the factors involved in performing testing of this nature.
After completion of any of our property testing, you will receive a full report including details of locations tested, photographs showing individual sites tested and results for your own records. This reporting is standard, and ensures consistency between our testers across the country providing you with a comprehensive report for insurance purposes.
